Too old to lose weight and start a new lease of life? Try telling that to Anne McKay who will be celebrating her 60th birthday in September and is daily celebrating the fact that she has lost over five stones but gained a lot of new friends.

Anne had successfully lost 2.5 stones on a different diet plan some years ago but soon put the lost weight back on and unfortunately added to it.

But in July last year whilst helping to celebrate a family member’s 40th birthday, she, in her words, “was not comfortable in my own skin”.

At the end of July she rang local Slimming World Consultant Sharon Blyth and so began a great friendship and a very happy and successful period of her life.

Anne has now reached her target weight and more importantly, is maintaining her weight loss. She is more active, feels good, and is happier and more confident.

No more “will it fit me” problems when shopping.

All this success whilst enjoying oven baked chicken risotto, chicken and sweetcorn soup, lemon and herb chicken drumsticks, Fanta chicken and a long list of other tasty food and drink.

Anne quickly realized that the Slimming World plan is based on what you can eat, not what you can’t.

She still can enjoy a drink, a takeaway, and all the other lovely tasty treats we all like, when enjoyed as part of the Slimming World Food Optimising Plan.

Cycling is just one of the activities Anne now enjoys with her family and of course her circle of friends just keeps growing.

Her husband Mervyn has been a great support and enjoys all the meals she cooks. He admits to being surprised at how great they taste.

Why not join Anne and her many friends at one of Sharon’s Slimming World group sessions at St Patrick’s Church Hall, Parkhall Road.

These are held on Tuesdays at 10am, 5.30pm and 7.30pm.

Come along to see and hear the evidence of lots of other very happy people. Sharon can be contacted on 07715 304791.
