South Antrim MLA Trevor Clarke has welcomed a £1.5million investment for road and cycle improvements in Antrim.
“This £1.5million investment is substantial for the cycling and walking infrastructure of Antrim and will have a massive benefit to the area as the scheme will connect a number of housing developments to schools, shops and industrial estates,” Cllr. Clarke said.
He added: “A large amount of traffic uses Stiles Way to access Antrim Town and the International Airport; whilst the Steeple Road is busy due to traffic coming to and from the Antrim Area Hospital.
“These two new schemes will automatically making it easier and safer for pedestrians and cyclists and will hopefully encourage more people to cycle and walk, which will have a massive impact to the traffic on our roads.”
