Concern over warning lights

Have your say

Alderman Drew Ritchie has expressed concerns that the warning lights that tell motorist they are approaching the school crossing close to the junction of Stiles Way/Birchill Road are not working and leave children very vulnerable to a road accident.

“I would ask DRD to assess the situation quickly and install new lights regards of cost,” Ald. Ritchie said.

He added: “Pedestrians are at their most vulnerable when crossing roads and I would urge DRD to ensure the school patrol person is given every protection and help to ensure all who use the crossing do safely.”
