The DUP party executive has announced three of its candidates to stand in the forthcoming new council elections.
Current Antrim Councillors Brian Graham and John Smyth have been selected to stand along with newcomer Nigel Kells.
The trio were nominated and ratified by the Party Executive of the DUP at the weekend to stand in the elections on May 22.
Cllr. Smyth said: “This has been a challenging process, however now that I am selected I have to be elected by the people.
“I look forward to the election battle and I believe that the people of Antrim will choose the right person to represent them.”
Father-of-three, Mr Kells, said: “I am delighted to have been selected by the DUP to run as one of their candidates in the upcoming council elections on May 22 for Antrim DEA.
“I am well versed with the bread and butter issues that families are facing because my wife and I face the exact same issues raising our family.
“If elected, I would work tirelessly for the people of Antrim to ensure the highest quality services delivered by the council and that those services are seen to be value for money.”
